Competitors for this trophy MUST perform in at least THREE classes in this section to be eligible for this trophy. Pieces must be at the Associate level, current conservatory syllabus. Open to competitors playing violin, viola, cello and bass aged 19 years and under.

Competitors will perform their choice of two contrasting selections, excluding concertos and sonatas Performance may be accompanied.

Choice of one movement from List A in the current syllabus. Performance may be accompanied.

Choice of one movement from List B in the current syllabus. Sonatas need not be memorized. May be accompanied.

Choice of one movement from List C in the current syllabus. May be accompanied.

Choice of one movement from List D in the current syllabus. May NOT be accompanied.

All pieces are own choice of repertoire. May be accompanied.

Studies need not be memorized. If music is used, there must be original copies for BOTH performer and adjudicator. The use of photocopies will result in adjudication only. May be accompanied.

There will be NO AUDIENCE for Sight Reading classes. Family, friends, teachers, fellow competitors, and general public will be asked to leave the hall. They may return at the end of the class, to hear the adjudication remarks.

Music will be sent by email 48 hours prior to the scheduled class. Quick Studies need not be memorized. These classes include Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass.

The participant will have 48 hours to prepare and learn an appropriately leveled new piece. Memorization is not required. The participant is required to learn the music as thoroughly as possible. Approach learning a quick study piece in the same manner that you would for any new piece of music.

Teachers must register duet entries. Any combination of two stringed instruments.
